Morpeth-Ponteland Win Northumberland Schools Games

The Northumberland Schools Games handball competition today was won by the Morpeth & Ponteland team who won all five of their matches.

Run by Newcastle Vikings Handball Club, six mixed girls and boys area teams competed for the handball honours in a series of round-robin 2 x 6 minute matches on outdoor grass pitches at the Cramlington Learning Centre.

The Morpeth & Northumberland team went unbeaten to clearly win the gold medals, ahead of silver-medallists Tynedale and the Cramlington & Seaton Valley team in 3rd place.  Ashington & Coquet finished 4th, with Blyth & Bedlington 5th and North Northumberland 6th.

Newcastle Vikings Handball Club would like to congratulate all the teams taking part in a fun competition, and to also thank the volunteer students who helped out with the refereeing.
