Newcastle Vikings Handball Club hosted their third handball fun day of the season for children on Saturday 8 June at the Benfield Centre for Sporting Excellence in Newcastle. Children from local schools and our own young Vikings players took part with huge enthusiasm all afternoon. Intense matches, lots of goals and some incredible goalkeeping saves were some of the highlights.
Head Coach Marlen says: “I was especially impressed by the way the teams worked together to stay focused through their matches with not many breaks between them. We saw fantastic team spirit and atmosphere in the sports hall all afternoon. Also, our young leaders did a fantastic job in guiding the teams through their matches. We could not have put on a tournament day like this without their help.”
Congratulations to the ‘Green’ team for winning the junior tournament! And well done to everyone who took part in both our mini and junior activities. A special thank you to the Community Champion at Tesco Extra Kingston Park for the chocolate raffle donation!
Newcastle Vikings Handball Club run sessions on Wednesdays for children age 3+. New players are always welcome to come and give it a go.
