Newcastle Vikings’ women have been drawn against defending champions London GD II in their England Handball League Cup semi-final next month.
The tough draw represents a re-match of last season’s EHA League Cup final, in which a depleted Newcastle side lost 14-22 to London GD’s more experienced second team. The strong London GD club once again have teams involved in all four of the EHA men’s and women’s National and League Cup semi-finals.
The League Cup semi-final game will take place on Saturday 23 April 2016 at 2:00pm, but while the Vikings have been drawn as the home team the match will be played at the neutral Leeds Futsal Arena due to our home Temple Park venue being unavailable that cup match weekend.
If the Vikings can gain revenge and upset the reigning champions to win through to the cup final, they will take on the winners of the other semi-final between south coast club Poole Phoenix and North Regional Development League leaders Liverpool in June.
